Use Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) wires (24 AWG
or better).
Do not use untwisted wires since it may result in
interference and noisy picture.
Do not use shielded twisted pair wires as they may
cause impedance mismatch.
Verify that each video signal uses conductors from
the same twisted pair.

4. Preliminary steps
Proper installation is critical to ensure maximum
performance. Before getting started, please follow
the recommendations below:
Nexxt Solutions HD CCTV passive video balun
allows traditional coaxial BNC cable installations to
be replaced with twisted pair wires, such as Cat5
or other forms of UTP cables. This is a more cost
effective structured cabling technique to wire
security cameras and overall surveillance solutions.
The use of UTP wire allows for longer and easier
cable runs for far less money. Passive full motion
HD CCTV video transmission can be easily accom-
plished up to 1100ft and up to 5000ft with the use
of an active receiver. The use of RJ-45 jacks makes
installations quick and efficient through the use of
UTP cable. Nexxt Solution HD baluns are sold as a
pair.
