Faults
Brake-Link™ offers the following fault code options:
•
VIEW EXISTING FAULT
•
VIEW STORED FAULTS
•
CLEAR FAULTS
Active fault codes appear in the existing fault code list. Once you repair a problem,
the ECU moves the associated fault code to the stored list for future reference.
Repair the vehicle; then, clear the stored fault codes before cycling power or per-
forming a road test. A code that appears in the stored list (one that isn’t in the
active list) after cycling power or road testing the vehicle, indicates an intermittent
problem.
This section explains how to use each option.
Viewing Existing Faults
This subsection explains how to view existing fault codes for each navigation
method.
NOTE:
i
Some ECUs only transmit one existing code at a time. If there is more than
one fault, you may have to repair the problem causing the fault to see the
next code.
The rest of this section explains how to view existing faults with each method of
navigation.
