PROGRAMMING

MTS163/RF devices are equipped with transmitters
and receivers allowing them to communicate with one
another and with GNSP-2236/RF2, MSA-866/RF2 and
MTS-166/RF2 devices. For this to work, the alarms
must be linked together by a simple programming step.

Select one of the alarms to be your master device and
mark it with an M on the back so you can recognise
it later on. When programming, the master device
transmits a radio code to the other alarms so they link
together.

THE MASTER UNIT
•  Press and hold down the test button for

11 seconds

and then release it.

•  The LED will show a solid light. (The master unit is

now in programming mode for approximately 30
seconds.)

THE SLAVE UNIT
•  Perform the following sequence using the slave unit’s

test button: PRESS – RELEASE – PRESS – RELEASE
(but not too quickly).

•  The LED on the slave unit will flash.

THE MASTER UNIT
•  PRESS and RELEASE the master unit’s test button.

The units are now interconnected.

TESTING THE INTERCONNECTION
•  PRESS and hold down the test button on the master

unit for 5 seconds and then release it.

•  The alarm on the master unit will sound first, and then

the alarms on the slave units will sound (may take up
to 60 seconds after the alarm on the master unit has
sounded).

•  Finish the test by pressing the button on the master

unit twice in succession.

DELETING PROGRAMMING (resetting)

•  PRESS and RELEASE the test button

5 times on the

unit you want to reset.

•  Red LED indicator flashes to confirm.

OPERATION

•  Red LED flashes once a minute, indicating that the

battery is charged and status is OK.

•  On alarm, the device emits a loud pulsating signal

and the red LED flashes rapidly.

•  On low battery level, the heat alarm emits a short

signal once a minute.

•  Interlinked alarms emit an acoustic signal once an

hour, if any of the devices has a flat battery that
needs replacing.

PAUSE FUNCTION

The heat alarm has a combined button for the test and
pause functions. You can use the pause function to stop
the alarm signal, if the alarm is triggered due to a false
alarm. You activate the pause function is activated by
holding down the test/pause button for 3 seconds while
the device is emitting an alarm.
The alarm will stop for 10 minutes and, during the period,
the red LED flashes every 10 seconds. The heat alarm is
reset to normal sensitivity after the end of the 10-minute
pause period.
If necessary, press the pause button again to pause the
alarm again.

SILENT FUNCTION

Silence function means when the alarm is low battery or
fault alarm, end-user can silence the alarm for 10 hours
by pressing the test button for 2-3 seconds. So, if this
happens at night, the end-user can silence the alarm and
wait until morning to change the battery.

LIMITATIONS FOR THE HEAT ALARM

Heat alarms are not intended to protect life from fire and
smoke. In many cases, dangerous amounts of toxic gases
and fumes can build up before the heater responds.
Therefore, it should only be used as a complement to
smoke alarms and used in spaces where optical smoke
alarms cannot be placed.
