to the session type. For any HD session, output on these rows is also HD, but for SD sessions it
will be SD. For 16:9 sessions, SD outputs are 16:9 too; but for 4:3 sessions they will be 4:3.
The session setting has some other significant ramifications, too. For example, if your session
format is SD 4:3, this is the format that will be captured by the Live Desktop’s
Record function,
even when the video cameras supplying your inputs are HD.

Having made your selections, click the Start Session button at lower right to launch TriCaster’s
Live Desktop .
5.2.2 OPEN (SESSION)
If there are existing sessions on TriCaster, the function selector ring on the Home Page will
default to the Open icon (Figure 78).

Selecting Open causes the Sessions List to appear at right. This pane lists all sessions currently
stored on TriCaster, showing the Session Name and Format for each one.
Let’s look at a few features of the Sessions List briefly before we open a session.
