Cleaning:  Using a mild mixture of dishwashing liquid and water, apply to the crib surface

using a soft cloth dipped in the solution. Rinse with clear water using another cloth, then dry

all surfaces thoroughly with a dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads as

these will damage the finish.

Read  all instructions before assembling crib. Keep this manual for future use. Newport

cribs are full size cribs which meet or exceed the requirements of the American

Consumer Product Safety Commission, and are in full compliance to the mandatory

standards of federal code – section 1508.

Strings can cause  strangulation! Do not place items with a string around a child’s neck, such as hood

strings or pacifer cords. Do not suspend strings over a crib or attach strings to toys.

Do not place a crib near a window where cords from blinds or drapes may strangle a child. Keep wall

decorations, especially those with strings, completely out of a child’s reach.

Before  each usage or assembly, inspect crib for damaged hardware, loose joints, missing parts or sharp

edges. Do not use the crib if any parts are missing or broken. Ask your dealer, or contact manufacturer for

replacement parts and instructional literature if needed. Do not substitute parts.

After raising a moving side, make sure it’s locked in place. Do not leave a child in the crib with the side

lowered. Be sure the moving drop gate is locked in its raised position whenever a child is in the crib.

When a  child is able to climb out, reaches the height of 35 inches (90cm), or when the height of the side

gate is less than ¾ of the child’s height, the crib should no longer be used.

When the child is able to pull to a standing position, set the mattress to the lowest position and remove

any bumper pads, large toys and other objects that could serve as steps for climbing out.

To help prevent strangulation tighten all fasteners. A child can trap parts of the body or clothing on loose

fasteners.

To reduce the risk of SIDS, pediatricians recommend healthy infants be placed on their backs to sleep,

unless otherwise advised by your physician.

Any mattress used in this crib must be at least 27 ¼” by 51 (5/8”) inches (69cm x 131cm) with a thickness

not exceeding 6 inches (15cm).

Infants  can suffocate on soft bedding. Never add a pillow or comforter. Never place additional padding

under an infant.

Parents should ensure a safe environment for their child by checking the crib regularly before placing the

child in the product. Please make sure that every component is properly and securely in place.

Never use plastic shipping bags or other plastic films as mattress covers because they can cause suffocation.

If refinishing, use a non-toxic finish specified for children’s products.

Infants can suffocate in gaps between crib sides and a mattress that is too small.

Follow warnings on all products in a crib.

Storage:  A storage pouch is attached to the mattress platform for the storage of the

assembly instructions. After completing the assembly process, you are advised to read

all warnings, cautions, cleaning, storage and maintenance notices contained in these

instructions. Do not place excess hardware in the storage pouch. It is recommended that the

crib be stored in a temperature controlled environment.

Periodically check to make sure all bolts and connections are fastened securely.

If you are missing a part or need a replacement part, do not substitute parts. Ask your dealer for

replacement parts or contact Customer Service at (951) 549-0590

Save these instructions in the event you disassemble the crib and need to reassemble it.
