CLEANING CDS
CLEANING THE LENS
Use a soft cloth to wipe off any fingerprints and dust from the disc surface.
Wipe in a straight line from the center to the outside of the disc. Small dust particles and
light stains will not affect reproduction quality.
* Never use chemicals such as record sprays, anti-static sprays, benzine or thinners to
clean your CDs.
* To reduce the risk of scratches, always put CDs back in their cases after use.
* Do not expose CDs to direct sunlight, high humidity or high temperatures for long periods.
* Do not stick paper or write anything on either side of the CD.
* Only discs displaying this symbol can be played on this unit.
Dirty lens will cause sound skipping and, if the lens is very dirty, the CD may not work. Open
the CD door and clean the lens as follows:
* Unplug the power supply.
* Dust or Dry Particles:
Using a camera lens brush/blower, blow on the lens a couple of times, then wipe it lightly
with the brush to remove dust. Then blow on the lens once more.
* Finger Prints:
If the lens cannot be cleaned by using a brush/blower, clean it with a dry cotton swab from
middle to the outside edge.
Carefully unpack the Main unit from its carton (do not attempt to connect anything
at this stage). You should have the following items:

Main Unit with built in AC plug.
If any these items is missing, consult your dealer. Keep any packaging in case
you want to transport the Main unit at some later date.

FM Stereo Indicator
Before connecting the Unit to an AC outlet, check that the operating voltage of the
Unit is identical to the voltage of your local power supply. Connect the supplied
AC power cord to the AC in jack.
Open the Battery Compartment Door and insert 6 UM-2 C size batteries, making
sure that the indicated battery polarity is observed.
Slide the Function Switch to the RADIO position. Slide the Band Switch, as you
prefer. Turn the tuning knob to your desired radio station. Adjust the Volume
Controls.
Fully extend the Telescope Antenna to receive FM and SW (Option) stations. For
AM reception the unit has a built-in antenna. Turn the whole unit for best
reception.
For private listening, insert the plug of a Stereo Headphone into the Stereo
Headphone JACK and adjust Volume Control Knobs, accordingly. During the use
of headphone, the External Speakers are automatically disconnected.
Slide Band Switch to FM ST position, The FM Stereo indicator is on if stereo
broadcasts are received.
