Title   NetVu Uniplex Desktop NVR Advanced Installation Manual

NetVu Ltd.

www.netvu.org.uk

No 1 Thellow Heath Park, Northwich Road, Northwich, Cheshire.  CW9 6JB

Fail Report: Enable this to generate a failure report if the camera becomes disconnected.
Mode: Describes the type of camera selected.  This will be one of the following types:

IP Camera Simple: Received IP streams are non-compressed and are viewed as configured at
source.

IP Camera Remote Codec: The codec in the remote NetVu connected video server or camera
is used to allow change Multimode profiles and perform additional activities such as VMD
and Activity Detection as if remote codec was an integral part of the DVR, reducing the
loading on the unit's internal codecs.  The Remote codec option is only applicable for NetVu
Connected cameras.

RTSP: Use a RTSP stream from a third-party camera.

No Conn: Select if a particular channel is not in use or the camera has failed.

IP Address: The IP address of the selected camera.
IP Port: The IP port of the selected camera.
IP Channel: The physical channel to use of the selected camera.  If the IP Address above is a
multichannel device, this setting specifies which channel to use.
Stream Protocol: Choose between TCP streaming and UDP streaming for remote codec operation
only.  TCP is used when connections are less reliable as it provides a degree of error correction.
UDP streaming provides increased network streaming bandwidth but only provides limited error
correction.
Telemetry: If the selected camera is a telemetry capable camera, the control protocol for the
camera should be selected from this list.

be saved.

Camera

– Assign Manually page

This page is used to manually add cameras to be recorded on the NVR.  This is not normally
needed where NetVu SmartVu cameras are used with the Uniplex Desktop NVR and NVSE Network
Extenders, as all cameras should be automatically detected.  However, if a Closed IP network is not
being used, then it will be necessary to manually add each camera.
