User Manual for NRSW version 4.5.0.100
Parameter
LAN IP Settings
Alias subnet mask
The alias subnet mask for this interface
When running in WAN mode, the interface may be configured with the following settings:
Parameter
WAN IP Settings
WAN mode
The WAN operation mode, defines whether the interface should run
as DHCP client, statically configured or over PPPoE.
MTU
The Maximum Transmission Unit for the interface, if provided it will
specify the largest size of a packet transmitted on the interface.
When running as DHCP client, no further configuration is required because all IP-related settings
(address, subnet, gateway, DNS server) will be retrieved from a DHCP server in the network. You
may also define static values but caution has to be taken to assign an unique IP address as it would
otherwise raise IP conflicts in the network.
PPPoE is commonly used when communicating with another WAN access device (like a DSL modem).
The following settings can be applied:
Parameter
PPPoE Configuration
User name
PPPoE user name for authenticating at the access device
Password
PPPoE password for authenticating at the access device
Service name
Specifies the service name set of the access concentrator and can
be left blank unless you have multiple services on the same physical
network and need to specify the one you want to connect to.
Access concentrator name
The name of the concentrator (the PPPoE client will connect to any
access concentrator if left blank)
