IOM console error messages
When an SCSI Enclosure Services (SES) element on an IOM fails, an error message appears on
the storage system console.
ses.status.electronicsError
Description
This message occurs when the system detects a failure in the module that provides disk SES
monitoring capability.
Corrective action
Replace the module.
In some disk shelf types, this function is integrated into the Fibre Channel, SCSI, or Serial
Attached SCSI (SAS) interface modules.
ses.status.ModuleError
Definition
This messages occurs when the reporting disk shelf detects an error in the indicated disk
shelf module.
Corrective action
1. Verify that the disk shelf module is fully seated and secure.
2. If the problem persists, replace the disk shelf module.
ses.status.ACPError
Description
This message occurs when a failure has been detected in the ACP processor that provides
alternate control path capability.
Corrective action
Replace the module.
In some disk shelf types, this function is integrated into the SAS interface modules.
ses.status.ACPWarn
Description
This messages occurs when a non-fatal condition has been detected in the ACP processor
that provides alternate control path capability.
Corrective action
Replace the module.
In some disk shelf types, this function is integrated into the SAS interface modules.
Monitoring the power supplies
You can monitor the health of your power supplies by familiarizing yourself with the location of
the LEDs on the power supplies, their meanings, and the error messages that can occur when there
is a problem.
Location of the power supply LEDs
The LEDs on the power supply indicate whether the power supply or the two integrated fan
modules are functioning normally or there are problems.
The following illustration shows the location of the LEDs on the power supply used in the DS4243
and DS4246 disk shelves:
