Preparation

Neogen recommends operators familiarize themselves with the operation of the manual
control prior to using ElectroJac 6’s manual setting. To accomplish this, do the following:
1.  Connect only the dwell cable to the electronics instrument case. Make sure the

On/off

switch on the dwell control box is

Off

.

2.  Set the

Auto/manual

switch on the electronics instrument case to

Manual

3.  Set the

Manual

control on the electronics instrument case to

Low

NOTE

: Always make

sure the manual control is in

Low

 before turning the unit on.

4.  Set the

On/off

switch on the dwell control box to

On

.

5.  While observing the blinking numeric display, very slowly turn the manual control

clockwise. Notice when the numerals on the display start to increment. This is the start
of stimulation. Practice this several times before using on an animal.

Operation

1.  To protect the unit and the animal, ElectroJac 6 must be prepared for use prior to

beginning the operation. To prepare the unit:
a.  Set the

Auto/manual

switch on the electronics instrument case to

Manual

b.   Set the

On/off

switch on the dwell control box to

Off

c.   Set the

Manual

control on the electronics instrument case to

Low

.

d.  Plug one end of the probe cable to the electronics instrument case in the port

marked

Probe

(on the case’s right side) and the other end to the probe.

e.   Plug the dwell cable to the electronics instru-

ment case into the port marked

Dwell

 (on the

case’s left side).

2.  Once the animal is prepared for collection, insert the

probe into the animal’s rectum with the three brass
electrodes facing down.

3.  After the probe is in place, set the

On/off

 switch on

the dwell control box to

On

. Slowly manipulate the

manual control clockwise then counterclockwise until
ejaculation.

4.  After use, wipe the probe and cables down with a

sponge and a nontoxic, nonabrasive cleaning
solution.

NOTE

: The manual control

must be in the low position
prior to beginning manual
operation.
