5. Child Lock

NEFFES 1200ST Air Purifier is equipped with a child lock for safety purposes. To activate
the lock,

l

Press the lock button (see Figure-5, Number 5) and hold it for three seconds, all the
LEDs will flash and the unit switches to the child lock mode and the lock warning LED
(see Figure-5 Number 9) is on.

l

For each unit, initially, the 1st Password (1st Fan level LED is on) is active.

l

It can be changed if desired (see “Section-6 Setting a Password”).

l

No button functions in the child lock mode, only pressing the lock button is active. In the
child lock mode, the unit functioning status LEDs are still on (the fan level LED of the
active fan level is on, the warning LEDs can be seen, if any, but nothing can be changed).

l

To exit the child lock mode, press the lock button and hold it for three seconds, the LED
under the lock button (See Figure-5, Number 9) starts flashing. This indicates that you
can enter the password. If password is not entered within ten seconds, the unit returns
to the lock mode and the LED stops flashing. If the selected password is entered and
it is correct, all LEDs flash and the unit exits the child lock mode. If the password is
incorrect, this procedure will be repeated until the correct password is entered.

6. Setting a Password

l

The password setting mode can be switched when the unit is not in the child lock mode.

l

Press and hold the lock button for eight seconds to switch the password setting mode.
If you press and hold it for three seconds, all LEDs flash and then turn of; if you continue
holding it, all LEDs showing the fan levels flash and then turn off at the eighth second
and the LED of the fan level where the password is set is on.

l

The first password (the first fan level LED is on) is active as a default. If the password
was changed before, the LED of the password that was activated at the password setting
mode is on)

l

The five LED lights showing the fan levels mean that there are five different passwords.
Press the fan level button to select the password you desire and then the relevant LED
is on. For example, all of the three LEDs should be on for the third password (see “Pass-
words” section for password explanations)

l

After choosing the password, the password selected is saved if no change is made
within five seconds. The unit switches to the child lock mode and the lock warning (see
Figure-5 Number 9) is on.
