External Options
External connectors on the back of the system unit allow for a variety of
industry-standard options
This subsection provides the installation procedures for the most commonly
used external options, which are as follows:
parallel printer
serial device.
For other external devices, see the instructions that come with the option.
Parallel Printer
Note:
Before connecting a printer to the system, be
sure the printer is set up correctly. Follow the setup
instructions that come with the printer.
Connect a parallel printer to the system as follows.
1.
Turn off power to the system and printer.
2.
Connect the printer cable to the printer port on the rear of the system unit
(see the following figure).
3.
Secure the cable with the screws provided.
4.
Connect the other end to the printer.
5.
Turn on the printer and the computer.
