Performing a calibration check with
EasyOne Air

Required materials
A calibration syringe (separately available)
An
EasyOne Flow Tube
cal check adapter (separately available)
An
EasyOne Flow Tube
The ultrasonic sensor of
EasyOne Air
does not require calibration. Only
unforeseeable reasons can lead to a malfunction that affects results. In these
cases, you can determine whether
EasyOne Air
operates normally with a
simple calibration check. Therefore, a regular calibration check is
recommended to ensure the reliability of the tests. The American Thoracic
Society (ATS) recommends that calibration must be checked periodically.
For criteria for acceptable trials, refer to the previous chapter.

To assure that the temperature inside the syringe and the room
temperature are the same, push and draw the piston five times.
A temperature difference may lead to a failed calibration check.
Do not warm the body of the calibration syringe with your hands.

Push the piston of the calibration syringe all the way in.

Unwrap the
EasyOne Flow Tube
.

Insert the
EasyOne Flow Tube
into
EasyOne Air
.
The shape of the
EasyOne Flow Tube
and the
EasyOne Flow Tube
holder
guide the orientation of the
EasyOne Flow Tube
. You can only insert the
EasyOne Flow Tube
fully if it is positioned correctly.

Attach the
EasyOne Flow Tube
cal check adapter to the calibration syringe.
To avoid any temperature differences, fixate the syringe with two
fingers at the one end of the syringe only.

Attach the nozzle of the
EasyOne Flow Tube
cal check adapter to the
EasyOne Flow Tube
and make sure that the piston is fully inserted.
The
EasyOne Flow Tube
snaps into the nozzle of the
EasyOne Flow Tube
cal
check adapter.
