9.3 CIP Database Object (Class 102/0x66)
The database object allows access to the LaserSpeed setups and measurement data via the explicit messag-
ing services of CIP. There are two database object instances (instances 1 and 2) implemented of the data-
base object class.
9.3.1 LaserSpeed Pro Database Services
The LaserSpeed Pro Database Object6 provides its own vendor-specific services for access.
9.3.1.1 Enumeration Service (service code 64/0x40)
This service allows the internal LaserSpeed Pro database to be enumerated. There is no requirement to
enumerate the database; the Database Object Instance 1 and 2 sections of this document provide details of
the database item identifiers, types, and access permissions, and it is possible to use this published infor-
mation directly with the other database services. The enumeration service allows generic test programs to be
written that have no prior knowledge of the LaserSpeed Pro database.
The EtherNet/IP™ client provides exactly 3 bytes of services related data:
Type Description
UChar The maximum number of database items to enumerate
UShort The starting enumeration index
The gauge will provide an appropriate error response if there aren’t exactly three service data bytes, or if the
maximum number of items to enumerate is excessive.
The gauge response data is an array of between 0 and the maximum number of requested enumeration re-
sults. Each enumeration result has the following form:
