BrightLight Lamps:

The BrightLight Module was designed to be

used with a General Electric Lamp.  All of the

optics in the BrightLight were matched to the

coating on the GE lamp reflector.  This results in

a matched optical system with maximum

brightness and optimum color temperature.

Using other brands of lamps can affect the

visual performance of the BrightLight.

Sylvania:

Good second choice, slightly less bright.

Ushio:

Approximately 10% less bright.

Wiko:

Approximately 20% less bright, higher film

gate temperature.

The GE 300 watt, 82 volt EXW type lamp is a

professional quality lamp offering very high

brightness and color temperature.  As com-

pared to a standard GE EXR-300 watt lamp, the

EXW offers 20% additional brightness and a

100

°

K higher color temperature (image white-

ness).  The trade-off is bulb life, as the average

life of the EXW lamp is 15 hours versus 35

hours of the EXR lamp.  To order additional

lamps, specify Brightlight Model BL-82 lamp.

These are available from your local BrightLight

dealer.

High Quality Projection Lenses:

For the ultimate quality slide presentation from

any projection distance, choose a Navitar slide

lens for use with your BrightLight Module.  A

full range of focal lengths from 1” (25mm) to

14” (355mm) are available to assist you in

precisely filling your screen.  Our zoom lenses

offer outstanding image sharpness while at the

same time allowing you to vary your screen

size or projection distances.  Choose a Navitar

wide-angle XYPC Keystone Correction Lens for

rear screen presentations where an extremely

large image is required from a short projection
distance.  See how sharp your slides can be!

Installation Procedure:

The Navitar BrightLight fits Kodak Extagraphic

Model III projectors only (projectors with handle

and controls on the side of the lamp module

removable from rear of projector).  If your projec-

tor is an older model and has a hinged door on

the back of the projector, the door can be easily

removed and the BrightLight Module used.

1. Remove existing Kodak lamp module from

your Kodak Slide Projector (figure 1).

2. Install the Navitar BrightLight Module in

your projector.

3. Turn projector lamp on/off switch to the

ON position and operate like a standard

Kodak Slide Projector.  The controls remain

the same.

4. For multimedia applications, this BrightLight

enhanced projector can be dissolved like a

standard projector.  Plug your AVL, Arioni, or

other dissolve controller into the 7-pin

receptacle located at the rear of the projector.
