SECTION 1.3: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This section provides physical specifications for the NX5 transmitter and its components, and lists
physical site requirements. This section includes the following topics:
Selecting a Location for the Transmitter
Preparing to Move the Transmitter into Place - see page 1.3.2
Selecting a Location for the Transmitter
To ensure that the desired location for the NX5 transmitter is suitable, perform the following tasks:
1.
Ensure that the floor area where the transmitter will be located is able to support the weight of the
transmitter system (see
2.
Measure the space to ensure that the transmitter will fit (see
3.
Ensure that transmitter room doors and the pathways of access from the receiving dock or building
exterior to the installation location are large enough to accommodate the transmitter (see
).
4.
If you plan to anchor the transmitter to prevent movement from seismic activity, ensure the floor
will accommodate four holes that will accept user-provided 1/2-inch or 12-mm concrete anchors
(for concrete floor), lag bolts (for wooden floor) or suitable alternative. See
for the transmitter cabinet’s anchor hole locations, noting they are 5/8-inch (16 mm) holes.
NOTE:
The maximum bolt length that can be used for seismic anchoring is dependent on the height
of the cabinet opening above the anchor holes [3.5 inches (9 cm)] and the tool you are using to
anchor the bolts. If the bolts are too long, it may be necessary to jack up the transmitter cabinet (by
adjusting the levelers), then installing the bolts while slowly dropping the height of the transmitter
until it rests on the floor. The integrated pallet opening at the bottom of the transmitter cabinet
(front through rear) is 17 inches (430 mm) wide and 3.5 inches (90 mm) high).
