3. Locate or obtain the following
wiring to make the electrical connections
.
•
Phases A, B and C, which are 535 MCM wires (Nautel Part # WT04) used between the
transformer and each of the four Racks.
•
X0, which is a 1/0 AWG black wire (Nautel Part #
WT02) used between the transformer
and Racks 1, and 3.
•
Ground, which is a 1/0 AWG green wire (Nautel Part # WT01) used to make the
ground connection between the transformer and Rack 3.
This wiring may have been purchased from Nautel and packed in an ancillary crate. If it is
not purchased from Nautel, it must be obtained by the user. In this case, it is imperative that
you purchase the wiring specified in Section 5 - Electrical Requirements of the
NX400 Pre-
installation Manual
. Failure to observe this may void your warranty.
4. Make sure a suitable cable carrying system is in place to support the wiring. A cable tray parts
kit is available from Nautel. Cable tray brackets shown on the transformer cabinet (see
) and transmitter cabinets (see
) are packed in
the ancillary kit for shipping. Refer to Section 5 - Electrical Requirements of the
NX400 Pre-
installation Manual
for drawings and parts lists to aid in the installation.
5. Route the 535 MCM wires (for each of the three phases) from
between the fuses on
the secondary side of the transformer (see
) and the top of each
cabinet, down through its ac cable duct, to the ac terminals (see
).
Ensure wires are properly routed along the cable carrying system and pass through
appropriate holes in any cable tray interfacing junctions.
WARNING: FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH RECOMMENDATIONS MAY VOID
YOUR MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY. FOR MORE INFORMATION, REVIEW
YOUR WARRANTY DOCUMENTS.
Note
:
When working near the top of the transmitter cabinets, ensure the air intake and exhaust grilles
are covered (i.e, with a plastic sheet) to ensure debris does not drop into the transmitter.
