Installation and Verification

You can use this same applet to uninstall the NI Serial software at a
later time if you want to. Refer to Appendix C,
, for more information.

Click on the Install... button.

Insert the NI Serial Software for Windows 95 and Windows NT
(Setup Disk), and click on the Next button to proceed.

The software installation wizard begins with the screen shown in
Figure 2-2.

The setup wizard guides you through the necessary steps to install the
NI Serial software. You may go back and change values where
appropriate by clicking on the Back. You can exit the setup where
appropriate by clicking on the Cancel.

If you need to install your hardware, or if this is your first time to install
the NI Serial software for Windows 95, skip to the next section,
. Otherwise, continue to step 7.
7.
If your hardware is already installed, restart Windows 95.
Windows 95 should automatically detect your hardware. Windows 95
briefly displays one or more New Hardware Found dialog boxes.
If no New Hardware Found dialog box appears, follow the steps in
Appendix E,
Forcing Windows 95 to Detect the Serial Hardware
