Getting Started with the NI EVS-1463
The NI EVS-1463 is a fanless embedded vision system designed for rugged industrial applications.
The NI EVS-1463 features a Windows operating system and a variety of industrial communication
connectors. The NI EVS-1463 supports Base configuration Camera Link-compatible cameras, GigE
Vision cameras, and DirectShow-compatible USB cameras. The NI EVS-1463 features a 15-pin D-SUB
connector that has four external TTL I/O lines, two optically isolated inputs, and two RS-422 inputs.
This document describes how to install the NI EVS-1463 hardware and acquire an initial image.

In addition to the items included in the NI EVS-1463 kit, the following components are necessary to
set up and configure the NI EVS-1463.

One of the following power supply options:
Caution
Use the NI EVS-1463 only with a 24 VDC, UL listed, limited power source (LPS) supply.
The power supply will bear the UL listed mark, LPS. The power supply must also meet any safety
and compliance requirements for the country of use.
