Use autonomous sweeping when your main task is to obtain a large number of power
measurements around the sphere in a single configuration. This means validating a specific
codebook item, frequency, or polarization.
Complete the following actions before getting started with autonomous position sweeping.
•
Ensure that the system is properly configured as specified in
.
•
Remove the laser alignment fixture.
•
Use the mmWave OTA Validation Positioner Control Panel to verify that your DUT can
move in all directions without collision.
•
Configure TestStand to include the following search path, including subdirectories, in the
search directories:
<NIDir>
\
<LabVIEW 20xx>
\user.lib\OTA Test
•
Configure TestStand to call LabVIEW Development System (64-bit).
Complete the following steps to perform a full antenna NR measurement test in autonomous
mode.
1.
Open the mmWave OTA Validation Configurator.
2.
Select
OTA
»
Open Configuration File
from the menu.
3.
Select the
Autonomous_NR.csv
file located at
<NIDocDir>
\
<TestStand 20xx>
(64-bit)\Examples\OTA Test\Sequences\
and click
OK
.
4.
Browse to the location of the
Results File
, or use the default location from the example
configuration file.
If the
Resource Name
is correct, the RFmx SFP launches and displays the preconfigured
NR measurement settings.
5.
Without closing the RFmx SFP, return to the mmWave OTA Validation Configurator and
select
OTA
»
Save Configuration File
from the menu.
6.
Select the
Autonomous_NR.csv
file and click
OK
to save the current settings to the
configuration file.
Tip
If you do not need to auto parse the result during testing or if you have a
large number of measurements around the sphere, you can improve the
performance by increasing the value of the
NumberOfPointsPerExport
string
in the configuration file. The default value is 250.
7.
Execute the test using the preferred programming interface.
Notice
Verify that nothing interferes with the motion of the positioner. The
sequence triggers motion which may cause damage if anything interferes with
the positioner.
