Wire the ground of the power supply to the GND terminal of the power connector.
The NI 6581/6581B external power connector ground connection references an external
power supply to the PXI system. The external power connector does not provide any
means of isolation; therefore, use care when connecting a non-isolated supply to the
external power connector.
Using a grounded power supply as the external power source may cause ground loops
that increase noise on the power rails. NI recommends that you use a floating source that
is ground referenced to the PXI chassis using the ground connection provided by the
external power ground connector on the NI 6581/6581B.
