CARE AND MAINTENANCE
A. Cleaning
Most dirt and stains on the simulator can easily be removed with a mild solution of liquid dish soap and
water. Most stubborn stains can be removed with Nasco Cleaner (LF09919U, sold separately). Apply
Nasco Cleaner to a clean, dry cloth. Rub the soiled area until clean.
B. Flush System
Nasco recommends ½ cup bleach mixed with one gallon of water for cleaning. Run a solution of the
mixed fluid through the system and drain immediately. Rinse with clean distilled water, let it air dry.
C. Adhesive Bandages
Most kinds of adhesive bandages can easily be used. Use Glue-Off (LF01023U) only for removing resid-
ual adhesive. Apply thin coat. Allow to dry. Rub off in a circular motion.
STORAGE
Empty the reservoir after every use. Hold the simulator facing down and shake it gently to drain any fluid.
When not in continuous use, it is recommended to store the clean, dry simulator in the included storage
case, or cover with a cloth or sheet of plastic.
CAUTION
DO NOT remove Tenckhoff catheter from abdominal area. It is installed permanently.
DO NOT use povidone-iodine prep solutions. These solutions will indelibly stain the simulator.
DO NOT place simulator in contact with any printed paper or plastic. The ink will transfer and cause an
indelible stain. Similar inks, such as ballpoint pen will also cause an indelible stain.
DO NOT store the simulator with fluids inside or allow fluids to stagnate inside the simulator.

SET UP
The Peritoneal Dialysis Simulator is intended to be used standing upright. An approximately ½ -gallon
(1.9 L) reservoir is embedded inside the abdominal area. Fluids can be introduced and emptied through
standard fluid bags to the internal reservoir inside the abdominal area via the permanently installed
Tenckhoff catheter. Distilled water is recommended as a dialysate. The tube on top of the simulator is
designed for air vent and drying. (
