About the Simulator

2

This trainer has the added features

of laryngospasm and tongue swell-

ing, this will provide students with

an easy-to-use model that will

build their confidence and exper-

tise while still providing a realistic

intubation experience.
Landmarks include nostrils, teeth,

tongue, oral and nasal pharynx,

larynx, cricoid ring, epiglottis, ary-

tenoid, false and true vocal cords,

trachea, esophagus, “Airway Larry”

lung set, and stomach.
The Advanced Airway Management

Trainer Head allows you to prac-

tice oral, digital, and nasal intu-

bation. E.T., E.O.A., PTL

®

, LMA, and

Combitube

®

 insertion can all be

practiced as well (please see “Using

the Combitube

®

”). Suction tech-

niques and proper cuff inflation can

also be performed and evaluated.
In addition, this model also allows

students to apply cricoid pressure

during the intubation procedure

(Sellick’s Maneuver). By locating the

larynx and depressing the cricoid

ring, the student may realistically

lower the vocal cords farther into the

field of view. This also effectively clos-

es off the esophagus of the simulator.
The Airway Management Trainer

head can be detached from the

training stand and placed on

CPARLENE

®

or modular type brand

manikins, creating a valuable

mega-code component. With prop-

er care, your Airway Management

Trainer will provide years of valu-

able service. Please review the

instructions carefully for setup,

cleanup, and maintenance proce-

dures.
