Remove the screws securing the restrictor plate and
rotate the plate 180°. Secure using the same two screws
through the existing holes.
Vertical terminations running longer than 15 feet may display a very active
fl
ame. If this appearance is not desirable, the
vent exit must be restricted using the restrictor plate. This reduces the velocity of the exhaust gases, slowing down the
fl
ame
pattern and creating a more traditional appearance.
Note:
Some vent con
fi
gurations may cause excessive air
fl
ow around the pilot
fl
ame and contribute to pilot outage. In this
case the restrictor plate can be installed over the
fl
ue opening to stabilize the pilot
fl
ame.
