The Emergency 911 button
is located underneath a red, rotating guard at the back of the
SHOUT 3G. Use it at any time regardless of the tracking status (enabled or disabled) or power
status (on or off). When pressed, the emergency LED immediately turns solid green to
indicate that the device is in emergency mode. The device then attempts to quickly send three
consecutive reports. Because these reports are sent quickly, a GPS fix may not be immediately
available; however, the emergency indication flag will be set. After sending the first three
emergency reports, the 3G reverts back to the default emergency Time-Between-Reports (TBR)
of two minutes. The LED can be deactivated to extend the battery life by using the

menu. If the LCD screen is on during emergency activation, the black bar across the top of
the screen turns red. During emergency a NOC can send an acknowledgement back to the 3G.
