Section 5: Startup
and
Operation
The power supply is ready to be placed into operation after it has been installed in its enclosure and all input and
output connections have been made. Ensure that AC input power is available to the power supply receptacle then
perform the following steps in sequence.

The following steps in the startup procedure MUST be performed exactly as presented; otherwise,
permanent damage to the power supply may result. Observe the LED indicators and the LCD display as a
guide in performing the startup procedure.

1.
Verify that all connections and initial wiring is complete, as previously outlined and described.
2.
Connect the battery harness to the Battery receptacle of the UPS.
NOTE
:
The LCD screen and LEDs will
illuminate, but the power supply will not activate its output until AC Line voltage has been applied.
3.
Operate the utility AC circuit breaker serving the power supply to the ON position.
4.
Operate the Input circuit breaker on the power supply and the power supply will begin to qualify AC line
voltage and the Output will be activated.
5.
The LED indicators on the front panel of the power supply should be illuminated as follows upon startup
from the AC utility line:

OUTPUT STATUS:
Green
•
BATTERY STATUS:
Green
•
INVERTER STATUS:
Green
•
UPS ALARM/FAULT:
OFF
(If Lit, investigate any alarms or faults prior to continuing)
6.
After the power supply initializes, the status screen should now be scrolling on the LCD display and should
look similar to this:

7.
The power supply will automatically begin charging the batteries after AC Line voltage has been qualified.
8.
The power supply is now operating in its normal double conversion mode, assuming application of
appropriate AC line power and load.
