The handset display replaces the talkgroup name with other information in certain circumstances (e.g.,
the word
VACANT
replaces the
NCR-‐EM
tag ID, as seen below).
CALLING
: Displayed when the PTT button or the P1 button has been pushed and a talkgroup is being
established on the network
VACANT
: Displayed when the PTT button has been released and the talkgroup is available for other
users (if no user responds within 10 seconds of the call being VACANT, the call will end)
USER ON
: Displayed when the talkgroup has been established on the network and the user may begin
speaking (this is also indicated by a double audible tone)
P1
: Displayed when a priority interrupt call has been initiated
INCOMING CALL
: Displayed when the handset is receiving an incoming telephony call (this is also
indicated by an audible ringing)
SEARCHING
: Displayed when the MSAT-‐G2 is attempting to make a connection to a satellite. A long time
in “searching” usually indicates an obstruction between the antenna and the satellite.
