Before you begin using the camera, you must set a few basic settings, such as
the date and time, language, auto power off, system reset, etc.
After turning on the camera, press the MENU button to enter the Settings menu.
Press the MENU button again to enter the System Settings menu.
1. Format
Use this function to format the current storage media; doing so will delete any
data on the storage media.
Enter the System Settings menu screen, then use the UP or DOWN keys to select
“Format”, and press the button. Then press UP or DOWN again to select
“Execute” and press the button to begin formatting. After formatting is
complete, press the MENU button to exit the menu.
2. Sounds
After turning on the camera and entering the Settings screen, use the UP or
DOWN keys to select “Sounds.”
Press the button to enter the options screen and use the UP or DOWN keys to
select on or off, and press the button to confirm; press the MENU button to
exit the menu. When sounds are turned on, pressing buttons will produce a
tone.
3. Language Settings
After turning on the camera and entering the Settings screen, use the UP or
DOWN keys to select “Languages.”
Press the button to enter the options screen and use the UP or DOWN keys to
select one of the following languages: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish,
Portuguese, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, or
Russian. After selecting a language, press the button to confirm; press MENU
to exit the menu.
4. Auto power off
After turning on the camera and entering the Settings screen, use the UP or
DOWN keys to select “Auto power off.” Press the button to enter the Auto
power off screen, then press UP or DOWN to choose either 1-minute, 3-minute,
5-minute, or Off. After selecting one of these four options, press the button to
confirm; press the MENU key to exit the menu.
5. System reset
Use this function to reset all settings to their default values.
In the System Settings menu screen, use the UP or DOWN keys to select “System
reset” and press the button. Then select “Execute” and press the key to
confirm; press MENU to exit the menu.
