Statutory warnings
These instructions must be read in
conjunction with the OptimAir blower
and tester instructions, and in
combination with any of the head tops
described below provide protection to
EN 12941, OptiHood Demi and
OptiHood Full TH2, OptiTop TH3.
Hoods are designed for use by
competent personnel familiar with
workplace hazards and only in
conjunction with the OptimAir 3000
blower unit.
Do not use in atmospheres with
modified oxygen content [permissible
range 19 – 23 % see local regulation]
or if contamination levels are likely to
be immediately dangerous to health.
Do not use the equipment if the head
cap or air hose is damaged, check for
cracks splits and tears, which will
cause leakage.
Protection will only be obtained if the
unit is fitted correctly; hair, spectacle
side arms etc must not intrude into
the face seal.
Protection levels may be reduced if
wind speed exceeds 2 meters per
second and at very high work rates
pressure in the device may become
negative at peak inhalation flow. In
such event other forms of respiratory
protective should be considered.

2. Pre Use
2.1 OptiHood Demi and Full
Prior to first use the head harness
must be adjusted to fit by sliding the
nap strap clip to the appropriate snug
fit and the hose connection made.
2.2 OptiTop
Assemble hood to helmet & air
management ring (see sketches).
Then assemble connector to rear of
management ring trapping and
sealing hood to ring, finally tighten
clamp on hose with the correct
orientation between the hood and
blower unit.
Always check airflow from the blower
prior to use.
