COMTAP® ARS
Operation
The following sections describe how to operate the COMTAP® ARS and
monitor the COMTAP® ARS and motor-drive unit.
Temperature range
When using a vegetable oil as insulating fluid, the permissible temperature
range for operation of the DEETAP® DU/COMTAP® ARS is limited. Please
observe the relevant information in the specific order documents and on the
indicator plate on the drive.
You can operate the DEETAP® DU/COMTAP® ARS in the rated load range
at oil temperatures of -25 °C to +105 °C and in accordance with IEC 60214-1
up to +115 °C (during emergency transformer operation in accordance with
IEC 60076-7). Contact Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen GmbH if this tempera-
ture range is not sufficient for the requirements of your application.
Switching COMTAP® ARS
Proceed as follows to switch the COMTAP® ARS:

DANGER!
When also using an on-load tap-changer, ensure that the
mutual electrical interlocking of the on-load tap-changer and COMTAP®
ARS is working properly and preventing impermissible tap-change oper-
ations. Ensure that all windings of the on-load tap-changer's tap winding
are disconnected and that the voltage at the winding whose polarity is to
be reversed is zero. Note technical files relating to order. Failure to do
so will result in the risk of explosion!
