INSPECTION
2. If gearbox oil is low, remove the drain/fill plug (Figure 16)
and fill with Chevron Cetus HiPerSYN 460 synthetic
gear oil until the correct oil level is reached. Replace
the drain/fill plug when finished.
3. If there is too much oil in the gearbox, remove the
drain/fill plug and allow the oil to seep out. Replace the
plug once the correct oil level is reached.
V-BELT
1. Inspect the V-belt (Figure 17) to determine if it is frayed,
peeling, full of tiny cracks, has pieces of rubber missing,
or is otherwise damaged.

2. Inspect the V-belt (Figure 17) to determine if it is
oil soaked or
glazed
(a hard, shiny appearance on the
sides of the belt). Either of these conditions can cause
overheating of the belt, which may weaken the belt and
increase the possibility of it breaking.
3. Replace the V-belt immediately if any of the
aforementioned wear conditions are observed.

Inspect the belt guard (Figure 18) for damage and loose
or missing hardware.

BLADES
Inspect the trowel blades for wear or damage (Figure 19). If
one blade is worn out while the others look new, there could
be a blade pitch problem. Refer to the
Maintenance
section
of this manual for the blade pitch adjustment procedure.
Replace any worn or damaged blades immediately.
