Programming Procedure
Moxi Remote Tips
The Moxi® remote is pre-programmed to
control your Moxi HD DVR.
You can also program it to control the
power, volume, and mute functions on your
TV and an audio device. If you program just
a TV or just an audio device, all three func-
tions will control that TV or audio device. If
you program both, power will control both,
and volume and mute will control the audio
device.
There are two ways to program your TV
or audio device: by code or by search. To
program by code, you need to find the code
for your particular TV in the tables listed in
this document. If none of the codes work or
there aren’t any listed for your TV, you can
program by search.
Programming the TV by Code
1.
Turn on your TV.
2.
In front of your TV, press and hold the
MOXI
and
OK
buttons on your remote
together until the red LED at the top of
the remote blinks twice. Then release
both buttons after the red LED blinks.
3.
Using the numeric buttons on the
remote, slowly enter the 1st setup code
listed for your TV brand.
a.
If that code is valid, the red LED will
blink twice. Proceed to step 4 to test
your remote.
b.
If that code is invalid, the red LED will
blink once slowly. Return to step 2 and
re-enter the code to make sure you en-
tered it correctly. If it still doesn’t work,
return to step 2, and continue with the
next code listed for your TV brand. If
you have entered all of the codes listed
for your TV brand without finding a
code that operates power, volume and
mute, refer to the Programming by
Search section below.
4.
Test your remote by pressing the power
button several times.
continue...
If your TV turns off and on, press the
vol+/- and mute buttons. If these
buttons operate your TV, you have
programmed the correct code. If any
do not work, return to step 2, and try
the next code listed for your TV brand.
If you have tried all relevant codes and
the buttons still do not function, refer to
the Programming by Search section.
If the buttons are functioning properly,
proceed to the next section to program
your audio device.
Programming the Audio Device by Code
1.
Turn on your audio device.
2.
Repeat steps 2-4 in the “Programming
the TV by Code” section above, but use
the setup codes listed for your audio
brand.
Programming by Search
If your TV or audio device are not listed in
the setup code tables, or your remote does
not respond to the listed codes, you can try
programming the remote by “searching” for
the correct TV and audio codes. Using this
method, the order you program your devices
(TV first, then audio or audio first, then TV)
is not important as long as you follow these
steps:
1.
Turn on your TV and audio device.
2.
In front of your TV and audio device,
press and hold the MOXI and OK but-
tons on your remote together until the
red LED at the top of the remote blinks
twice. Release both buttons after the
red LED blinks.
3.
Slowly press the ch+ button repeat-
edly, which will cycle through potential
remote codes. Continue pressing it
until you find a code that turns off your
TV or audio device off.
As soon as your TV or audio device
turns off, stop pressing the ch+ button.
4.
Press mute. If your TV or audio device:
continue...
a.
Turns back on, press OK to lock in the
code. The red LED at the top of the
remote will blink twice.
b.
Does not turn back on, you may have
gone past the correct code. Press
the ch- button once at a time until you
find a code that turns your TV or audio
device back on. Once you have found a
code that turns your TV or audio device
on and off, press OK to lock in the
code. The red LED at the top of the
remote will blink twice.
5.
Repeat steps 2-4 above to program
your second electronic device, TV or
audio.
Replacing Batteries
When replacing your remote’s AA batter-
ies, use only high-quality, non-corrosive
batteries designed for use in electronic
equipment.
Resetting to Factory Default
Press the MOXI and OK buttons simul-
taneously, hold until the LED light blinks
twice and then press clear three times.
Older/Brand New devices
Some older or brand new TVs may not be
supported. If the TV still fails to respond,
use its original remote to control it.
