HOW TO GET MOWING
Your Mountfield lawnmower does not contain petrol or oil and these must be added before use.
Running
the mower with insufficient oil can cause serious damage to the engine and will invalidate your
warranty
.
NEVER TIP THE MOWER ONTO ITS SIDE AS THIS WILL FLOOD THE AIR FILTER WITH OIL.
To access the underside of the machine lift the front wheels by lowering the handle to the ground.
Carefully remove the mower from the carton and read these Operating Instructions. An Owner’s Manual
for the engine is also included, please read this before starting the engine.
HANDLE ASSEMBLY (Figure 1)
Attach the bottom of the handle (1) to the holes on the side of the cutter deck. Secure it using the nuts and
bolts supplied (2). An allen key to tighten the nuts is located at the base of the handles.
Fit the top handle (3) using the bolts provided (4) ensuring that the pull cord guide (5) is positioned correctly.
Pull the starter cord and fit it into the cord guide.
Use the cable ties (6) to fit the OPC cable (and clutch cable if fitted) to the handle assembly. Take care that the
cables will not impair removal of the grass collector.
GRASS COLLECTOR (Figure 2)
Carefully detach the plate (1) and washers (2) from the top of the grass catcher (3). Eliminate the washers (2)
and fit the plate (1) onto the top of the grass-catcher (3) so that it clicks into place.
Join the top (3) and bottom (4) of the grass collector together. Push the two parts firmly until they click into
place all the way round.
Use the screws supplied (5) to secure the pieces firmly in place.
To fit the grass collector onto the mower, lift the rear safety deflector flap and hook the collector onto the pegs.
