10.4 Smart Key
The smart key gives you another way to do things. For
example, when you highlight a menu item, you can press the
smart key to select it (instead of pressing
s
). The smart
key usually does the same thing as
s
. To find the smart
key, see page 1. To change what the smart key does in the
home screen, see page 85.
10.5 External Display
When you close your phone, the external display shows the
time, date, status indicators, and notifications for incoming
calls and other events. After your phone is inactive for a
while, the display shows only a clock. For a list of phone
status indicators, see page 54.
To set the phone ring style in the external display:

Press a volume key to see
Ring Styles
.

Press the smart key repeatedly, until the style you want
appears.

Press a volume key to return to the home screen.
10.6 Using the Handsfree Speaker
When you activate your phone’s integrated handsfree
speaker, you can talk to the other party without holding the
phone to your ear.
Press the
Speaker
key to turn the handsfree speaker on or off
during a call.
When you turn the handsfree speaker on, your phone
displays
Speakerphone On
in the home screen. The handsfree
speaker remains on until you press the
Speaker
key again or
turn the phone off.
Note:
The handsfree speaker is disabled when you connect
your phone to a handsfree car kit or headset accessory.
10.7 Changing a Code, PIN, or Password
Your phone’s 4-digit unlock code is originally set to 1234,
and the 6-digit security code is originally set to 000000. Your
