SBV6120 Quick Start Guide
Connect the telephone and computer to the SBV6120
Note:
Do not
connect the telephone cord to the TEL 1 or TEL 1/2
port and a traditional telephone service, only connect the cord to
a telephone.
For a single or two-line telephone:
To connect the landline telephone, insert the telephone cord

into the telephone.

the other end of the telephone cord into the TEL 1/2
port on the SBV6120.
Note:
If you are using a two-line telephone, you must
connect it to the TEL 1/2 port.
For a second single-line telephone, fax machine, or other
device:
Insert the telephone cable into the device.

on the SBV6120.

5. o connect the computer, insert the Ethernet cable into the
Ethernet port on the computer.

Testing the Connections
To verify that all the components were properly installed, perform the following connectivity test:
Power on the computer and then log on.

Check that all the LEDs on the SBV6120 front panel are either

, except for TEL 1 and TEL 2. The telephony LEDs will
be

if the SBV6120 is set up for telephone service.
Note:

Open a web browser.

Go to any website to check for an Internet connection.
4.
Check the telephone for a dial tone. If there is no dial tone, then you may not have a telephone service subscription.

Note:
Contact your service provider to provision the telephony line(s).

on page 5 for a possible solution.
