Smart Button
The middle key on the side of your phone used to access the Phone Book, place
calls, end calls, select the Phone Book, enter the menu system, and toggle features ON and OFF.
soft-handoff
Unlike traditional analog technology where you are disconnected from one site and
then connected to another, CDMA digital technology connects you to a new site before discon-
necting you
from the old site. This is known as a “soft-handoff.” With soft-handoff technology, you could
experience fewer dropped calls.
standby-time
The total time your phone is ON but not used for talking.
Super Speed Dial
A dialing shortcut that allows you to quickly dial any number in the
Phone Book. To use this feature, enter the two-digit location of your number, 01-99, then
press and hold Smart Button or press

System ID
Every wireless system has a unique number to identify itself. See page 96.

talk-time
The total time that you can talk on your phone before the battery is fully discharged.
toggle
To switch between two possible options; for example: ON vs. OFF. Pressing the Smart Button
toggles features ON or OFF.

Alert

Located on the side of your phone, the upper and lower volume keys are used
to adjust ringer and keypad volume. They also scroll within the menu system and the
Phone Book.
