Cable Management and Connection for SLX 5000
The section explains the grounding procedure, cable preparation, external antenna assembly and
general instructions on connecting DC power cable and Fiber Ethernet (SFP) cable to the SLX 5000
unit.
NOTICE:
The following components are not supplied with SLX 5000 and must be ordered
separately:
• Grounding Cable
• Fiber Cable
• SFP Connector Adapter
• DC Power Cable
• Ethernet Cable
• RJ45 Copper Connector Adapter
The order form gives the option to order either SFP or RJ45 Connector adapters, and either
the GPS antenna or the Mounting Kit. If you need the Mounting Kit, it must be selected in
addition to the main SLX 5000 unit. See
SLX 5000 Components on page 19
3.8.1
SLX 5000 Grounding
SLX 5000 requires a secure ground connection. A grounding screw fitted with a flat washer and a lock
washer is provided on the back of the unit with a clearly marked universal ground symbol.
The cable (not supplied) must be grounded and bonded according to the international or local
standards.
