shifts, always, depress the pedal firmly but gently without stamping or jabbing vigorously
on it.
The free position (neutral) is in between first and second gear. To locate 'this position it
is, necessary to shift to low gear and then by

slight (toe) pressure (half stroke) to feel for neutral position.
With the machine standing still and the engine running, the transmission should always
be kept in neutral. Do not keep the clutch lever depressed, even during the briefest stops.
Always change to a higher gear rather than let the engine race.
Stopping the machine
As soon as the machine stops, close the throttle, shift to neutral, turn the key to the - 0 -
position and take it off (Fig. 7).
