
Changing the brush belt
If the power brush stops rotating it is
likely that the drive belt has snapped (usually
because the brush has been stalled).
Replacement belts can be obtained from
Morphy Richards or a Service Agent.

Disconnect the cleaner from the mains
supply.

Place the cleaner face down in the flat
position.

Use a cross-head screwdriver to remove
the two screws from the front bottom and
the central screw under the height
adjustment mechanism

Turn the cleaner over and remove the
carpet height adjustment knob.

Remove the two screws at the rear and
lift the rear of the cover off over the
handle release button and unclip the
cover from the front of the floor nozzle

If the belt has broken, remove any loose
pieces before replacing.

Lift the belt cover

off.

Grasp the brush at both ends and lift
straight up

Remove the belt tunnel blanking plate

Place one end of the new belt over the
motor shaft and the other around the
pulley end of the brush

Make sure both brush end plates

are
fitted.

Place the belt tunnel blanking plate over
the belt and push end into its guide slot.

Align brush end plates with their guide
slots and push the brush down into
place.

Re-fit the belt cover.

Re-fit the main cover. Push the carpet
height adjustment knob back on - do not
over tighten.

Replace the two screws on the top of the
cover and the three screws underneath
the floor nozzle.
