Section 1. Installation
A qualified installer must carry out the installation.
This appliance can be used fully ‘vented’ via a ducting hose and external wall
vent, or in ‘re-circulation’ mode by using the charcoal filter provided.
The cooker hood should ideally be installed between 65-75cm above the
work surface/cooker hob. DO NOT INSTALL BELOW 65cm.
Remove the hood, chimney and fixings from the carton. Mark out the position
of the four (4) holes for the securing screws. You will need to mark the
position of the holes onto the wall and drill four size 8 holes for the wall plugs.
It is important to ensure that the holes are perfectly level in order that the
cooker hood is level once installed (Picture 1.)
Fit the wall plugs and then fix the cooker hood body section to the wall using
the supplied screws. Ensure the body section is secure.
If you want to use this appliance fully ‘vented’, connect the flexible ducting
hose to the one-way valve on the motor and connect the other end to the wall
outlet (not supplied). Do not fit the charcoal filter!
Keep bends in the flexible
ducting hose to a minimum and ensure that it is connected direct to an
outside wall outlet. Position the small adjuster to ‘outdoor’ setting – Picture 2.
N.B. Your installer will supply a wall outlet and may have to supply a
suitable alternative flexible duct to suit the wall outlet.
If you intend to use the appliance in ‘re-circulation’ mode, simply remove the
Filter Cover by rotating the 2 fixing tabs on either side of the cover and then
lay the charcoal filter on the upper face (facing the inside of the appliance) of
the Filter Cover and secure in place with the retaining wire. Replace the
Filter Cover. For re-circulation mode, you must also position the small
adjuster to ‘indoor’ setting as shown in Picture 2.
This appliance must not share the same air outlet as another appliance, i.e.
gas heating outlet.
The mains lead should be connected to a suitably positioned fused electrical
spur, protected by a 13amp fuse.
Ensure that dust and debris is cleaned up from the immediate area of the
appliance prior to it being switched on and tested for the first time.
