PA Pendant Speaker

These instructions are intended for installers
with specific knowledge of 100 V technol-
ogy for PA applications. Please read the in-
structions carefully prior to installation and
keep them for later reference.

1  Applications

This speaker with EN 54-24 certification is ap-
proved for use in voice alarm systems. It is
equipped with a transformer for operation
in 70 V and 100 V systems, but it can also be
directly connected to a low-impedance ampli-
fier output. The connected load is adjusted via
a rotary switch. The 2-way coaxial system used
ensures excellent sound quality for speech and
music.

2  Important Notes

The product corresponds to all relevant directives
of the EU and is therefore marked with  .

tion definitively, dispose of the product
in accordance with local regulations.

3  Installation

WARNING

During operation, there is a haz-
ard of contact with a dangerous
voltage of up to 100 V at the con-
nection cable. Installation must
always be carried out by skilled
personnel.

Observe the load of the speakers on the PA
amplifier. Overload may damage the amplifier!
The total power of all speakers connected must
not exceed the amplifier power.

The following parts are supplied with the speaker:

– 5 m steel wire rope and eyebolt for fastening

the rope to the speaker housing

– self-locking wire rope clamp, the rope is

passed through the clamp to create a loop for
suspension

1) Before installing the speaker, switch off the

PA amplifier so that the speaker cable will not
carry any voltage!

2) Remove the housing cover. Use the rotary

switch (1) to set the desired rated load (vol-
ume) or, for operation at a low-impedance
amplifier output, set the switch to the posi-
tion “8 Ω” (d). For operation in a 100 V sys-
tem, use the outer scale (a); for operation in a
70 V system, use the inner scale (b).

Attention!

1.  In the position “8 Ω” (d), never operate

the speaker in a 70 V or 100 V system. The
speaker and possibly also the amplifier
will be damaged.

2.  In a 100 V system, the switch must not be

set to the position “–” (c). The speaker
may be damaged. This position is only
intended for a power rating of 30 W in
a 70 V system.

3) Guide the speaker cable through the housing

cover (oval hole) and connect it to the green
terminal block (2). For connection, disconnect
the terminal block from its connector and
then reconnect it. When connecting several
speakers, make sure that all speakers have the
same polarity.

4) Place the housing cover on the speaker and

fasten it using the eyebolt for the wire rope.

5) Pass the free end of the rope through the wire

rope clamp to create a loop. This loop will
allow the speaker to be suspended expertly
and securely from a suitable spot.
