1.
REMOVE OLD BURNER:
There may be screws, pins or oth-
er fastening devices under the grill that hold it. Lift it carefully
pulling the venturis off the gas valve orifices. Notice the posi-
tion of the various parts. Use this knowledge to assemble the
new parts in the same position. Disconnect any wires from
the ignitor system.
2.
CLEAN OUT THE GRILL INTERIOR.
Scrape and remove
debris from the grill bottom. Repaint the exterior with MHP
(BF-1) high temperature paint, if necessary.
3.
CHECK BOX FOR THESE PARTS.

4.
Fasten the three venturis to the Burner using the GASKETS
and 1/4” SCREWS provided.
THEY CAN ONLY BE
MOUNTED IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION.
(

5. Mount the (2) collector Boxes to the Burner using the provid-
ed 3/8” Screws, Lock Washers and Nuts. Be sure they are
mounted correctly as showed in
(Fig. 2).
6. Mount Ignitor Probe/Wires to the collector boxes using (2)
1/4” screws provided.
(Fig. 2)
INSTALL THE NEW BURNER:
Fit the venturis through the
opening in the grill bottom tilting as necessary. Be sure the ends
of the venturis fit over the ends of the valves (Fig. 3). Secure the
burner from underneath the grill in the same location as when
you removed the old burner using the 2 screws provided.
(Fig. 3)
TEST BURNER, ADJUST FLAME, REASSEMBLE GRILL:
Be-
fore putting the rock grate, briquets and cooking grids back in the
grill, TEST THE BURNER. Using one gas knob, turn on the gas
and light the burner flame. Within 5 to 10 seconds after lighting, a
blue flame with very little yellow should burn evenly around half
the burner. If the flame is mainly yellow, the air shutter at the end
of the venture must be rotated to control the amount of air that is
mixed with the gas. Adjust each air shutter one at a time, with
gas to the other one turned off. The final result will be mostly
blue flame burning around the whole burner. Some yellow may
occur.
