Taking a Temperature
•
Press and hold the ON/OFF button
–
the thermometer will be.
•
The display will flash Lo and C°/F° to notify you it is ready to take a temperature.
•
A beep will sound when the temperature measurement is complete.
•
Press the ON/OFF button to power the unit off. (Unit will auto shut off after 10 minutes)
Oral Temperature Reading
•
Place the probe tip under the tongue as close as possible to a hear pocket.
•
Allow 30 seconds for the reading to be complete. You will hear a beep.
NOTE: Oral temperatures are little higher than external temperatures (about 0.3°C or 32.54°F).
Underarm Temperature Reading
•
Wipe the underarm with a dry towel and place the probe tip under the arm so the tip is touching
the skin with the thermometer perpendicular to the body. Put arm across the chest so the probe
tip is covered properly.
NOTE: Underarm temperatures are generally 0.5°C or 32.9°F lower than oral readings.
SUGGESTION: Close armpit at least 5 minutes before temperature taking for a more accurate
measurement.
