Password function
When
Pr.297

Parameter reading/writing restriction level (Pr.296)

Registering a password (Pr.296, Pr.297)
• The following section describes how to register a password.
1) Set the parameter reading/writing restriction level. (
Pr.296

During
Pr.296
= any of "100 to 103, 105 or 106", if password unlock error has occurred five times, correct password will not unlock the
restriction. All parameter clear can unlock the restriction. (In this case, the parameters are returned to their initial values.)
2) Write a four-digit number (1000 to 9998) to
Pr.297
as a password. Writing is disabled when
Pr.296
= "9999".) When a
password is registered, parameter reading/writing is restricted with the restriction level set in
Pr.296
until unlocking.
NOTE
• After registering a password, the read value of
Pr.297
is always one of "0" to "5".

• Even if a password is registered, the parameters, which the converter unit itself writes, such as converter unit parts life are
overwritten as needed.
Registering a 4-digit password can restrict parameter reading/writing.
