The drainpipe is used to drain water away from the unit. Improper installation may
cause unit and property damage.
CAUTION
•
Insulate all piping to prevent condensation, which could lead to water damage.
•
If the drain pipe is bent or installed incorrectly, water may leak and cause a
water-level switch malfunction.
•
In HEAT mode, the outdoor unit will discharge water. Ensure that the drain hose
is placed in an appropriate area to avoid water damage and slippage.
•
DO NOT pull the drain pipe forcefully. This could disconnect it.
Indoor Drainpipe Installation
1. Cover the drainpipe with heat insulation to prevent condensation and leakage.
2. Attached
the mouth of the drain hose to the unit’s outlet pipe. Sheath the mouth
of the hose and clip it firmly with a pipe clasp.
Units operate with a positive pressure at the drain connections and a drain trap is
required. The trap needs to be insulated as close to the unit as possible. Ensure
top of the trap is below the connection to the drain pan to allow compete
drainage of the pan.
Drainpipe Installation
NOTE: Purchasing Pipes
Installation requires a polyethylene tube (exterior diameter = 3.7-3.9cm, interior
diameter = 3.2cm), which can be obtained at your local hardware store or dealer.
