16. 4. Setting up an Abbreviated Dialling Number - Method 2
Generally, Abbreviated Dialling is used after an installation is complete. All trunks will have
access to Abbreviated Dialling, and all calls are screened because of the DK values (as
outlined previously is automatically set to 08). By default, the user Abbreviated Dialling
programming code is #2

NOTE: If you exit programming without dialling 987, then all modified Abbreviated Dialling
bins will not take effect.
16. 5. To use an Abbreviated Dialling Number from an MF4 Telephone
Dial #

NNN, where NNN is the three digit location number. The number entered at the
Abbreviated Dialling location specified is dialled out, if it exists. If it does not exist, or access
to the particular trunk is not allowed access, number unobtainable tone is heard.
16. 6. To Change the Abbreviated Dialling to be accessed from a Rotary Dial Telephone
To change the Abbreviated Dialling Access Code to 17NNN:

Dial 80317#9#7##, to enable a skip over the 8031#9#911 entry

Dial 80517#9#9#939##, to add the new Abbreviated Dialling Access Code of 17NNN

Dial 987 to exit programming mode.
16. 7. To use the New Number from a Rotary Dial Phone
Dial 17NNN, where NNN is the three digit location number. The number entered at the
Abbreviated Dialling location specified will be dialled out, if it exists. If it does not exist, or
access to the particular trunk is not allowed access, number unobtainable tone is heard.
16. 8. To Delete the Old Abbreviated Dialling Access Code
