All fans should be installed by a suitably qualifi ed person in accordance with
AS/NZ3000 and relevant building codes. Disconnect supply before making any
electrical connections.
For best results provision should be made for return air to enter the room on the
opposite side. In some instances a return air grille/vent may be required.
Installation:
This card can be used as a template for making appropriate fan mounting hole size.
1.
Cut hole of the required diameter (in the desired position) in the ceiling.
2.
Attach Earthed plug base on joist as near as possible to the mounting hole.
3.
Remove grille by pulling from outside edge.
4.
Support fan whilst connecting 3-pin plug to plug base.
5.
Insert fan into opening in the ceiling. Push the 3 brackets back through the duct

(see diagram). Pull screws down and tighten until duct is fi rmly fi xed to the ceiling.
Caution:
Fan must be mounted at least 120cm above any hotplate and must have at least

50cm of clear space above the fan blades.
Do not install in canopies.

If ducting is required, its diameter over the full length shall be no smaller than the

diameter of the fan blades and no longer than one metre. Restrictions of any kind
will affect the performance of the fan.
Warning:
The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infi rm persons unless they
have been adequately supervised by a responsible person to ensure that they can use
the appliance safely. Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play
with the appliance.
Cleaning (ensure fan is unplugged or switched off at mains):
Remove grille by pulling the outside edge of grille down.

Wash grille in hot soapy water and wipe fan blades.

Replace grille by pushing grille into fan opening. Fan blade may be removed by

undoing screw in the centre of the fan blade.
Template:
Use this template to mark mounting hole for the fan. Use a nail or similar object to
anchor the template at the centre hole, then insert a pencil through the template at the
295mm marking and scribe a circle.
