Types of filter
There are four types of parametric EQ filter. The filter type is selected towards the lower right of the settings
window:
PEAK
This filter creates a dip or a peak in the frequency response. These two examples show how the parameters
affect the response:
LOW_SHELF and HIGH_SHELF
This filter reduces or increases part of the frequency spectrum. The Frequency parameter is the frequency
where the response has half the value given by Gain (for example, if Gain is 10, then at Frequency Hz the gain is
5 dB). These two examples show how the parameters affect the response:
ALL_PASS
This filter creates a varying phase shift with frequency, with the specified frequency being where half the total
phase shift occurs. This filter will have no effect on the displayed graph. This should be considered an advanced
option that will not be of use to 99% of users.
