1. Set the TempMinder® receiver to the channel you wish to program with high and/or low temperature and/or humidity
alert levels.
2. Press “HI/LO” button once. “HI” flashes beside the Temperature. Press “UP” until the desired upper (high) temperature
is displayed. Press “HI/LO” to confirm. Now the “HI” icon flashes beside the Humidity. Again, press the “UP” button until
the desired upper (high) humidity is displayed. Set the low temperature and low humidity alert values in the same manner.
3. This all may seem a little confusing at first (maybe even at second or third!!). Don’t give up. It will make sense after a
while. Your biggest challenge will be the next section on how to actually activate and deactivate these alert settings!!
4.You will notice an “ALARM ON/OFF” button on the back. We only wish it were that simple! Go back to the beginning and
find the illustration of the LCD Display. On the right side you will see the icons HI and LO in both the temperature and
humidity sections. This shows that the alert levels have been programmed and the alarm is “ON”. If you were successful in
programming the alert levels (section 2 above), then you will already see these HI/LO icons on your display. At some
point, you are going to want to turn the alarms off. For that to happen, these two icons cannot be visible. So, the challenge
is how to get rid of them. What needs to happen is the HI or LO icon needs to be flashing (just like at the beginning of #2
above). While it is flashing, press the ALARM ON/OFF button. The icon will disappear. If you have programmed a HI and LO
alert value for both the Temperature and the Humidity, you will have to do this “Flashing - ON/OFF” four times.
5.When the alarm is activated, it will beep for one minute (or you may press any button to silence it. The Temperature or
Humidity that is causing the alarm will continue to flash until the value returns to a “non-alert” state. Alternatively, you
may change the alert level (#2 above)!

LIGHT:
Activates the BLUE LED backlight for 10 seconds.
Miscellaneous Information/Hints:
Locate the Transmitter
out of direct sunlight. Even though the unit is “weather proof”, try to keep it out of direct
rain or snow as much as possible. Under an eave, window sill or overhang is ideal.
If temperatures in your area drop below -20°C/-4°F use Lithium batteries in the transmitter.
The TempMinder® MRI-822MX has a maximum distance of 130M (426ft). Please note this is under ideal
conditions with fresh Lithium batteries in both the receiver and the transmitter. As well there were no
obstructions between the two units and the receiver antennae was fully extended. Transmission distances will
vary greatly depending on individual circumstances.
IF: you lose the signal from the remote transmitter.
Press and hold the CHANNEL button for 2 seconds. This will initiate a 3 minute search. If still not found, read
below.
If your TempMinder has been functioning for 6 months or longer, you will likely resolve the problem by replacing
the batteries in both the transmitter(s) and the receiver.
If the problem persists, the cause is probably electronic interference from another device. This is very difficult to
determine and all we can suggest is moving the receiver and transmitter to various locations. Quite often a move
of even a few feet (meters) in one direction or another will resolve the issue. Also, try moving the antennae
(remember “rabbit ears” on your first TV?). It is interesting to note that RF (Radio Frequency signals) will transmit
better through a concrete wall than glass!
