Using the tension bar to set the roll
media
The route for setting the fabric media is as shown in the
following diagram.
Prior to setting the media, if you understand the routing of
the media, you can perform the setting of the media
smoothly.

Attach the ink receiving spacer.
• Attach the ink receiving spacer, refer to P.2-6
“Attaching/removing ink receiving spacer”.

Close the front cover and check the clamp
lever is lowered.
• The screen for “SELECT USE TENSION-BAR” is
displayed.

Select how to use tension bar according to
the media seting method.
• In this case, select “FEEDING&TAKE”.
(DL= direct-connection unit, TL=t orque limiter
- - = unit OFF)
• Press [
][
] to select “FEEDING&TAKE” and
press the [ENTER] key.

Fix feeding tension bar and take-up
tension bar into their locked positions.

Attach folding bar according to the media
to be set.
• To stabilize the tension on the feeding side, attach
folding bar in an appropriate position to suit the
media to be set.
• The position in the figure below is our
recommended attachment position. Even when
folding bar is attached in this position, if the media
becomes loose or has vertical creases, adjust the
tension to suit the media you use by referring to
P.2-12.
• Before setting fabric media, check that around the
grit roller is not stained. If it is stained, clean it.
• Before seting media by using tension bar, check
that direct-connection unit is attached to feeding/
take-up device. If torque limiter is attached,
replace it with direct-connection unit by referring to
P.2-13.
